why (678)?
Isaiah 6
The vision for the middle school ministry (grades 6, 7 & 8) comes from the book of Isaiah chapter 6. We desire to be a ministry where:
1. (678) students can come before the Lord in worship.
- "...I saw the Lord seated on the throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple." (6:1b)
- "And they were calling to one another: 'Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory." (6:3)
2. (678) students can be real and honest with each other about their lives through small groups.
- "Woe to me!" I cried. "I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty." (6:5)
3. (678) students can freely accept the grace and cleansing of God.
- "See this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for." (6:7)
4. (678) students would be willing to be sent into the world. This is accomplished through relationships, outreach events and service projects.
- Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!" (6:8)
